About The Paddock Riding Club
Tucked along the Los Angeles River in the Atwater Village Equestrian District, The Paddock Riding Club is one of the last places in the city where horses, history, and community still quietly coexist.
Originally established as part of Los Angeles’ early equestrian roots, the property has long served as a refuge from the city—open land shaped by riders, trainers, and horsemen over generations. But it is Alex and Nadine Chaves who have lovingly carried it into what it is today.
For the past 15 years, Alex and Nadine—who live on the property in the original 1930 adobe—have restored The Paddock with intention and care, transforming it into a true home away from home. What was once simply a riding facility is now a living, breathing space built around connection: between horses and people, neighbors and visitors, past and present.
Their stewardship is felt in every detail—from the way the grounds are maintained, to the sense of calm that settles in the moment you arrive. Whether welcoming boarders, hosting intimate events, or opening the gates to creatives and couples seeking something meaningful, The Paddock remains grounded in warmth, hospitality, and respect for its roots.
In a city that rarely slows down, The Paddock Riding Club endures as a rare and protected place—where time stretches, moments feel personal, and the magic is real.
